The world's biggest steel maker has been named 'the most admired steel company' in the world by Fortune, an American business magazine, according to online news reports.

ArcelorMittal took pride of place over rivals Kobe Steel, Nucor, ThyssenKrupp and China Baowu Steel Group, but was ranked second overall in the metals sector behind Arconic, a global technology, engineering and advanced manufacturing business, which was once part of Alcoa, the aluminium giant. Arconic has been included in Fortune's Most Admired List since the ranking began 30 years ago.

The annual Fortune award is an annual ranking of reputation based on surveys of executives, analysts, and directors who rate companies in their own industries.
