Christina Bage-Friborg has been appointed head of sustainability for Swedish steelmaker SSAB. She is also a member of the company’s group executive committee.

Bage-Friborg previously held leading positions in the world of sustainability, most recently being responsible for sustainability business at Sandvik AB, another Swedish steelmaker.

Prior to working for Sandvik, Bage-Friborg worked for the Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency (SIDA) as well as the UNHCR.

Martin Lindqvist, president and CEO of SSAB said that sustainability was an important part of the Swedish steelmaker’s business. “We work to make a difference both for our customers and in our own activities,” he said, adding that Bage-Friborg’s background will enable her to make a valuable contribution to SSAB’s continued development.
